Evaluation tasks 4 and 5

EVALUATION ACTIVITY 4 Who would be the audience for your media product?
EVALUATION ACTIVITY 5 How did you attract/address your audience? You may continue your Q4 PowerPoint to answer this or put it directly into your blog with relevant attachments and links.
This shows that there is not only an audience for our thriller but also it is the main demographic of cinema goers making it more likely that a project such as 'Sweet revenge' would get a green light from a film producer and distributor. If there were 'film stars' in the film this would boost chances of a green light for the film almost certain. If we were to have some film stars star in our film my personal choice would be Dakota Fanning as the lead playing Kym, she is around a similar age to the character and has already demonstrated that she has the ability to play a strong character in the British film 'Now is good' Fanning plays a teenage girl who is terminally ill with Leukaemia, Although American Dakota has shown she is capable of speaking in a convincing British accent and is capable of playing a strong female lead who has to endure extremely difficult life experiences. The advantage of using Dakota Fanning as our lead would be that she is a very well established Hollywood actress with a huge following that would guarantee screenings and an audience for our film. For our male lead my personal choice would be Freddie Highmore. With Highmore being an extremely well established Hollywood actor with a large from London England he already has the British accent required for the role. He is also known for playing slightly weaker characters such as Charlie in the 2005 Tim Burton remake of Roald Dahl's 'Charlie and the Chocolate factory'. Joe's character is also fairly weak as he gives in to the pressures of the gang he has become involved with and resorts to suicide.

On wednesday 24th April Myself and Emma went down to Burnley film club to preview our production of 'Sweet revenge' to the members. All the members of the club are extremeley passionate film makers with abundants of knowledge about filming techniques, mise en scene composition, sound and editing. The main purpose of myself and Emma taking this trip down to the club was to show the short film opening to the highly experienced film making members and hear some feedback on what they thought of the opening and what their opinions were on the camera work, editing, sound and composition of the opening. We are aware that the ages of the members of the club are not that of our target audience so our main concern was not whether or not they would go to see the film in the cinema but more about their professional insight on the actual filming techniques we used and whether they thought it was filmed well or not. Here is a shot video clip of the interviews myslef and Emma conducted, I was filming behined the camera while Emma asked the questions
Reviews from Sweet Revenge from Emma Taylor on Vimeo.

The main purpose of us showing the production to the members of the film club was to hear critical feedback from film experts with many years experience in the film industry who would be able to give us good honest reviews on the technicality of the film and help us understand what sort of standard we had achieved in that way. We are aware that the age group of the members is not that of our target audience so we shared the video on various social networking sites such as twitter and facebook, Emma also shared the video on her Youtube channel to see how it would appeal to the audience in a wider context. The aim of this was to reach out to our target audience age group of teenagers and young adults. This was the feedback we recieved.
