Planning - Bridge jumping test

tom falling from Emma Taylor on Vimeo.

It was clear to see very early on that filming the bridge jump would be far too dangerous to film on the actual edge of the bridge so we decided to use two locations to create the illusion that the character is actually falling from the bridge. So during our day location scouting we did several test shots using myself as the stand in model, in this video clip we are doing a test shot of me jumping off of a small wall. With the camera at the right angle it will create the illusion that our character is jumping off of the bridge when in reality he is only jumping from a ledge with a very small drop on the other side making the illusion possible whilst being completely safe. When we actually film the shot with our actor we will use a green screen to change the back ground to the same as by the bridge so the audience will not be able to distinguish between the two locations and will believe he is actually jumping off of the bridge.
